Sample Collection

General Guidelines

See our Grower and Sampling Guide for a full list of required materials and detailed steps

  1. Print our sample submission form, sample information form, and sampling checklist

  2. Label each sample tube with a unique sample ID (Max 30 characters).

  3. Clean your gloves, tools, and workspace using 70% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol or 10% bleach

  4. Take a photo of the plant symptoms sample prior to collection to aid in pathogen identification

  5. Using forceps or tweezers, place sample into a new sample tube (minimum 1 marble’s worth of plant or substrate)

  6. Re-sanitize tools between sample collection

  7. Store the conical tube in a cool location (ideally on ice) until it can be transferred into freezer. Freeze all samples within 2 hours of collecting

Sample Collection

  1. Store samples in the freezer until pickup or shipping

  2. Fill out the sample submission form, and a sample information form for each sample.

  3. Email a scan or photo of the completed forms and any sample photos to testing@ceragengrow.com
